I offer three different types of lessons:

 

Standard Lesson: These lessons are traditional, using books and Piano Marvel software. They are 1/2 hour with the teacher.

Piano Marvel Lessons:  1/2 hour with the teacher plus 1/2 hour on their own working on technique, ear training, sight reading, and theory.

 

Group Lessons: These 1 hour lessons encourage students to challenge themselves with those in their group. One on one with the teacher will still be given, but not as much as a private lesson. Both are beneficial, but different. Method, technique, ear training, sight reading, and theory are offered here as well.

To be able to participate in the group lessons:

-Have Piano Marvel software set up at home

-Student needs to be at least 7 years old and can navigate Piano Marvel by themselves

-Willing and able to work on their own music and assigned music

Lessons will be set up as follows for group:

-1 hour lesson

-SASR (Standard Assessment of Sight Reading) test will be given each week during lessons

-Technic /Method will also be focused on

-Last 15 minutes we will do theory all together as a group

-Students will have private lesson time with me for about 15 minutes every other week on the main piano to set goals and address problems with music every other week (They will be playing on electric pianos when not on the main acoustic piano) 

                                    -If supplemental music is needed from a book, I'm willing to work individually with each student as needed.

 

 

For all the above lessons the following elements are emphasized during the time at the piano:  practice skills, technique, sight reading, performance, theory, composition, note reading, notation, and musical terms.
